Im new to smurfs collecting and mushroom village. Just started my collection after a friend introduced me to them.

Hi HijabiSmurfette; Welcome to the Forums. If you have a Toys R Us near you, they have quite a few Smurf item there. Dollar General has kites and is the only place I have seen that has all three sizes. Wandy said in another post that there is a comic book out. I have not seen it yet. As for getting Smurfs the best Smurfs are here. Watch out for sets on ebay there are lots of fakes out there. Most lots I have gotten on ebay (10 or more) have been pretty good. If you are unsure if its real copy the link and paste it here. I will do my best to let you know ASAP.

Thanks for the welcome, Bill ! I have been to Toys R Us near my house and seen a few smurfs, also been to flea market and bought some neat ones. I still need to get the digi out and snap pictures of them. I will try and get them posted soon. Thanks for your tips, they are great !

A good place for deals on SMurfs is Craigslist. A good rule of thumb I use for my lots is nothign more than 3 -4 dollars per Smurf. There are some rare ones that command high prices, but I try not to play into the hands of unscrupulous collectors who drive the price up on the auction just to increase the value of their own collection. If in doubt about something you are looking at ask on the boards, there are some people out there who will sell a fake Smurf. There are lots of websites that showcase some of these fakes. I believe Bill also has pics of fake Smurfs.

Yes I do have a few fakes. But there are a lot more out there. And I mean a Lot. There are diffrent ways to tell if they are fake or not. If you think you have a fake. Post pic's of it.
