Care & Conservation of Smurfs
An original article by Peter Caparelli published on MushroomVillage.com September 14, 2004

This article is about the care and conservation of Smurf figurines, which many of you know are made from Polyvinyl Chloride (a type of plastic) also known as "PVC." This article will be as much about PVC as it is about Smurfs; if you know a little bit about PVC, you will understand why we do certain things to care for our little blue friends. In the end, we will discuss what we can do to preserve our Smurfs, and how sometimes we can even reverse damage that has already occurred! So let us begin...

Part I - An Introduction to PVC and its Formulation
Part II – Properties & Problems of PVC
Part III - What Can We Do About It?
Part IV - Storage & Display Conditions
