I have received a copy of the Big Smurfs Copy/Print Center and love it. It let’s you make Smurfy cards, posters, signs, etc. The screensavers are OK, but not fatastic…but the print shop is PRIMO, you will love it if you can get your hands on it! And mine is in English! Sorry, I don’t know where to get it...I got my copy from a friend who no longer used it, but Stefan has given you some good leads if you want to try and find out if either program is still available. Please let us know if you discover anything, so we can pass the info on! 3) NEW FEATURES AT ESMURFS.COM We have begun incorporating larger images into our catalog. Some descriptions now end with a small camera icon (http://www.landofmarbles.com/sitepics/_cameraicon.gif). The icon or the catalog image can be clicked to load a larger image. The URL below for fake Smurfs below will load a page using this new feature. We will be adding larger images slowly but surely, first to those items where details may be unclear in the small images, like buildings or play sets. We also hoped to have quite a few images of fake Smurfs added in time to announce for this issue of the Smurfy News, but we didn't complete it. There is a neat fake 20007 Angry up right now…it's really 20002 Normal painted black! If you like fakes, be on the look out, the rest will be added soon! This URL will show you any fakes we have added: http://search.cartserver.com/search/search.cgi?cartid=a-6296&category=Smurfs&maxhits=20&keywords=fake Check back in a few days for more! 4) COMICS NO TOXICO More from Stefan in Germany: “On the eSmurfs bulletin board I have seen the news and discussion on smurfs called "comic non toxico" or "comics no toxico" and which is the correct designation and if they have had a sticker on it or not. Approximately four or five years ago I have bought a few of this smurfs WITH this golden sticker, removed all stickers and put them to waste. WHY??? I didn't like the adhesive/glue of this stickers on my smurfs!! Anyway, once more again I took my comics no toxico smurfs and looked at them, and - the American Football Smurf has its sticker on the sole of the foot. No joke, he's there. I left one sticker out, I could not believe THIS to have made a MISTAKE - a very good mistake in my opinion NOW.” Now I hope the discussion about the correct name has it’s end !!! keep on smurfin', will smurf you out there smurfy greetings from Germany :-))” Well, Stefan sent a nice image of this sticker. It is a small gold oval sticker small enough to fit on the foot. It has black print reading “COMICS NO TOXICO.” There is a horizontal line between “Comics” and “NO TOXICO” which is in a smaller size print. I want to point out here that it has been well established in many other hobbies that *original* accessories such as boxes and tags should never be removed if you want to preserve the value of a piece! Of course we weren’t thinking of that when we got these years ago as children, but this is why fewer pieces exist with these original accessories!! Those few who were careful to preserve condition are happy now!! We don’t advise ever removing a label or tag, or discarding any original packaging on any item you may wish to hold on to as an investment collectible! There has been more and more interest in even the fake Smurfs now, and I can guarantee any serious fakes collector will take a piece with it’s label over one without! 5) FREE SMURF ID GUIDE FOR YOU! Do you have a Smurfs web site, or sell Smurfs on eBay.com or another auction site? eSmurfs.com is working on an exciting new affiliate program that can add the power of our searchable database to your auctions or site!! ESmurfs.com will provide you with an HTML fragment that you can use anywhere on your web site or in your auctions. It will create a search box your visitors and/or bidders can use to search a complete, color illustrated Smurfs ID Guide right from your web site or auction! The Smurf ID page that is created from this search box will appear in a new browser window and will NOT contain buy buttons or prices, so it will not conflict with your own Smurfs for sale. It is 100% in compliance with 3rd party advertising rules on auctions sites. It will have a standard 468x60 pixel advertising banner at the top and bottom of the search results, and show images and descriptions, with dates of issue. You may also choose to load the results into a frame on your site. Your search form will be 100% customizable to fit your site or auction listing as you see fit. You may or may not include a “powered by eSmurfs.com” line. (Our name is associated with quality and accuracy, let people know who you’re working with!) The ID guide has been the most well received addition to eSmurfs.com, and now you can benefit from that popularity. Adding access to this resource will make your auctions and sites “stickier,” visitors won’t be so quick to leave, and will return again and again to research their Smurfs! We may have to limit the # of people who take part in this program if it becomes a drain on our servers, so if you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact us and get on the list. We are especially interested in working with a few good reputable auction sellers. Please contact us at esmurfs@esmurfs.com if you are interested in making your site or auctions stronger! 6) CHAT REMINDER Smurf Chat meets every other Tuesday from 7:00 PM EST to “whenever” and meets again tomorrow, Tuesday 8/29/00 in the chat room located at http://www.esmurfs.com/chat.html -Pete eSmurfs.com The "Smurfy News" is a free biweekly e-mail newsletter published by eSmurfs.com (http://www.esmurfs.com) Joining or leaving the list is voluntary, we cannot add or delete you!
