We've said it before, and we'll say it again...saving the original packaging for collectible toys is very important, do not ever throw them out if you want to preserve the value of your collectibles! Any Mint collectible toy loses roughly 50% of it's value if the original packaging is not there! MAGAZINE ================================== We recently helped Catherine Saunders-Watson with some Smurf info for an upcoming column of hers. It will appear in issue 41 (November 2000) of Collect it! magazine, which is published in England. The street date for this magazine, (which is not sold in the United States except by subscription) is Oct. 12. Catherine Saunders-Watson is a freelance writer who covers antiques for 15 American and British publications, specializing in toys, entertainment memorabilia, antique advertising and Deco pottery. She has written dozens of cover stories for Antique Toy World magazine, where her work appears on a regular basis. We provided Catherine with some information and images, and she has told us she will publish an image of the "Candy Store" Promo Smurf-a-Gram, it will be the first time this newly documented piece appears in print :) We expect to receive a copy of the finished piece, and hope to obtain permission to reprint it here or on eSmurfs.com. ================== 6) NEW SMURF CHAT ================== Our friend Christoph from http://www.SmurfShop.com is now hosting a German chat.
