We are heading into a busy selling season, and we needed to free up some time to keep up with orders and work on some site changes. We are not sure of our next publication date, next month is kind of rough, but it will be by the end of October :) ========= CONTENTS ========= 1) HOLIDAY SMURF SALES! 2) NEW TO OUR CATALOG 3) 3-2-1 SMURF! 4) CHRISTMAS AROUND THE CORNER! 5) MEET THE SCCI 6) SMURF CHAT & BUY/SELL/TRADE 7) SMURF CHAT ROOM CLOSES AND SMURF VINE WILTS ----------------------------------------------------- ===================== HOLIDAY SMURF SALES! ===================== We will be randomly marking down various items and/or running specials through the holiday season , so keep a look out! Since the Smurfy News will be published a little less frequently, there will be no formal announcement for these...just bookmark eSmurfs.com (visit http://www.esmurfs.com and press "Ctrl-D") and check back often :) =================== NEW TO OUR CATALOG =================== We do not anticipate announcing very many more new additions - this is not a bad thing, it means that the catalog is near complete and that we are well stocked on most pieces! We have added some new (and rare!) promos to our catalog. including the limited edition SCCI pieces! Most of our promos are listed for reference, but some are available for resale. We did not get these listing completed in time for this issue, but the images are up, and info and values will be added soon. Use this link to view our promotional figures: http://search.cartserver.com/search/search.cgi?cartid=a-6296&category=Smurfs&keywords=Promos&go=GO%21&maxhits=20 ============= 3-2-1 SMURF! ============= Our contact at Infogrames software tells us they will be releasing a new title for Playstation and PC CD ROM! We got a release late Friday afternoon, along with some screen shots...you can see these at: http://www.esmurfs.com/smurfs-321smurf.html The release also said something about a "new' Smurf! We wonder, could this be a new promo? Well, Infogrames closed for the weekend before we could learn more, so stay tuned!! We have hundred and hundreds of different Smurf items in stock at all times...they make great holiday gifts for yourself, or for those you love! Here's an idea: Place an order with eSmurfs.com and select "Order by Check/Money Order through Postal Mail" or "Order by Credit Card through Postal Mail" as the payment option. Then give the print out to someone who loves you too much to say no, and tell them how much you'd love to find the Smurfs under the tree Christmas morning :) We will hold all pay-by-mail orders through the end of the year, so they can send in payment whenever it is conveinent for them. (To play it safe, we suggest any order needed for the holidays be mailed in by November 25.) Use this link to view our Christmas-related items and ornaments: http://search.cartserver.com/search/search.cgi?cartid=a-6296&category=Smurfs&maxhits=20&keywords=christmas You can also use the search to find an appropriate Smurf - try looking for a smurf related to a loved one's hobby, career or favorite sport! Smurfs make the greatest stocking stuffers! ============== MEET THE SCCI ============== Well, we expect just about everyone knows of the Smurf Collectors Club International (SCCI) but for the few who don't... The SCCI is the world's largest and longest running Smurf club, 15 years and counting! They have assisted eSmurfs in many ways - they audit and adjust our ID Guide values annually to ensure they reflect real market supply and demand, and are also behind much of the facts and information you see posted here and elsewhere on the net. Suzanne Lipschitz is an original founder of the club, and would be happy to tell you about current club dues and benefits. She is a walking Smurf encyclopedia and encourages all club members to correspond with the club. They can help you locate those hard-to-find pieces and stay in-the-know. For more info, please e-mail Suzanne at NYSmurfette@juno.com ============================ SMURF CHAT & BUY/SELL/TRADE ============================ We recently merged our "Smurf Chat" and "Buy/sell/trade" boards into a single "Talk 'n' Trade" forum. All are welcome to continue placing FREE buy/sell/trade ads to the new forum, as well as post any other Smurf-related questions, comments, etc. Visit the Forum at: http://www.landofmarbles.com/cgi-bin/forum/dcboard.cgi?az=list&forum=SmurfVillage&conf=Smurfs ============================================ SMURF CHAT ROOM CLOSES AND SMURF VINE WILTS ============================================ We have decided to close down our Smurf Chat Room and the Smurf Vine. The Chat never really took off, it was used very infrequently, if at all. If we get a slew of mail asking us to keep it, we will, but I suspect it will not be missed. The Smurf Vine is also a little-used feature, and we have had problems with people spamming the list from time to time. We want to continue to add new content and features to eSmurfs.com, and stuff like this that does not get used just clutters things up. Perhaps the best replacement for these 2 tools are to continue your subscription to the Smurfy News and visit our "Talk 'n' Trade" board to keep up-to-date and make Smurfy new friends and contacts to trade and share information with. We will be posting to the "Talk 'n' Trade" board when we learn more about that "new" Smurf from Infogrames, so be sure to visit!
