OK, we got a little busy and had to skip a month, but we're back on track! I usually like to have a few new features on eSmurfs.com to announce in the Smurfy News, unfortunately I was super busy last month with the Holiday crush, and a move to our new warehouse, and so little was added to the site. The Smurfs on TV page was updated, including new info in our Worldwide Channel Guide. This guide lists every channel in the world which is currently airing the Smurfs cartoon! Twice this past year we have had to relocate to a bigger space to make it easier to operate. I know a few of you remember when I started as a one page web site with a club on Yahoo! Well, lots of loyal visitors have discovered us since then, and come back again and again for the best Smurf site on the web! (Well, that's what *they* tell us anyway :) This time, we have moved to a public warehouse...TNT Liquidators in Bellerose, NY. Now don't get the wrong idea, it's no Smurf paradise, it's really just bulk storage, all layed out in bins for easy picking and packing. It is in a closed-to-the-public area of the warehouse, but once I am settled in and things are running smoothly, I might be able to meet with Smurfers who wants to come down and visit! If you are interested in coming down to shop for your Smurfs in person, just e-mail me at Pete@esmurfs.com and we'll work it out. I'm only there a couple of times a week...most of the work involved with running eSmurfs is done from my computer...Ah, I love the Internet! ================== 2001 SMURF RUMORS ================== Rumors regarding the new 2001 Smurfs are flying! We can confirm that there are 10 new figurine styles being released this year, but we will not make any more announcements until after the official announcement at the Nuremburg Toy Show in February. We will, of course, be accepting orders for the new pieces soon after the announcement. If you want an e-mail notification when we are taking orders, hit reply now and ask to be added to the call back list. We will let you know when we are accepting orders. As always, we ship worldwide and you can pay online with PayPal or your Discover, Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit cards. You can also pay by mail using the same credit cards, a check, cash or Money Order. ================== NEW PROMO SMURFS! ================== There is a new Schönwald promo! It is 20467 Chimney Sweep on a blue Smurf-a-Gram base with the Schönwald sticker on it. Only 400 pieces of this promo were produced. We reported in an earlier issue that we heard rumors there might be a new promo Smurf...well, we just heard some Smurfy good news from our contact at Infogrames! "We are having an exclusive figurine but it will not be available until we release "3-2-1 Smurf!" on PC in Feb-March." 3-2-1 Smurf! is the new Smurf racing game being developed for Playstation and PC CD-rom. We're waiting to find out too…stay tuned for more details on this exciting new promo! ================= COLOR VARIATIONS ================= Many of you wrote to tell me you had 20458 Newsman with the blue smurf on the newspaper, but not one of you wrote to report you too had a black and white newspaper! As I had reported before, I received a black and white newspaper Smurf through a trade, and then checked our stock and found a few more. I placed a big order for more of him, hoping to get more, but the new ones all came with blue newspapers! I guess this was an error variation...I do have a couple of Smurfs where errors were made like this...I have 20029 Money with his eyes unpainted (they are blue, like the PVC!) and 20104 Pirate with an unpainted belt buckle. The Smurf on the newspaper looks like he is stamped on by machine, perhaps the ink ran out? Unfortunately, I did not have enough of these to offer for sale, although a few lucky Smurfers got one in private trades, plus we gave one away on a previous Smurfy News Give-a-way. If you do happen to find one of these, I would still like to hear where you got it and when! And if you do find one, I think it's a keeper! ==================== NEXT SMURF ID GUIDE ==================== We have had several people ask when the next Smurf ID guide will be issued. We investigated and were told that the next edition is due out in Fall 2001, and there will probably be an English edition too! (The current edition says "Gultig bis 2002," that's valid until 2002) This book is far and away our best selling Smurf ID Guide, even though there are three others printed in English! That's because this guide has the best and most complete listing of the ever-popular PVC line. ================ SMURFS CALENDAR ================ Our friend James Dunn recently posted to our Talk 'n'n Trade bulletin board: " I felt I had to share this with everyone. This weekend I found The Smurfs 2001 Calendar at a Prime Outlets Mall in Niagara Falls, N.Y. at a store called "We're Entertainment". Similar to a Warner Brothers/Movie Outlet. So be alert at your calendar shops. These calendars were printed in the USA for Entertainment Calendars LLC. Licensed through IMPS. $12.99 US, $18.99 Canada. The graphics are mostly Techno Smurfs Skiing and Snowboarding, Windsailing, Surfing and White Water Rafting, Rollerblading, Skateboarding and BMX riding, Soccer, Hiking, and Sky Diving and Rock'N Roll" James sent me one of these calendars, and boy does it look great! I wish I had known early enough to offer them to my visitors! Our friend Anthony replied: "I found the same 2001 Smurf Calendar at the "We're Entertainment" in the Tanessville Outlets in Pennslyvania." So be on the look out! The graphics are bright and colorful, I love it! Thanks James :) ======================== NEW IN OUR SMURF SHOP! ======================== I took a full Inventory after we moved to our new warehouse, and discovered that we actually did have stock on quite a few items that I had thought we were out of! I also got in a big shipment just as we were ready to move, so any of the regular production items we had sold out of during the holidays are now back in stock. Remember, everything eSmurfs.com sells is top notch "Collector Quality!" All of our items are vintage unsold store stock. Nothing has ever been played with, many pieces never even made it to the showroom! Most Smurf sellers on the Internet are selling pre-owned Smurfs. Our Smurfs are absolutely guaranteed to be Mint and perfect with no paint rubs, discoloration or defects of any kind! We are having a sale on some of our Super Smurfs and playsets. These are the last few pieces we have that are not Mint in the Box. These pieces came out of high quality collections, the only defect, if you consider it one, is that they do not come with a box.
