Comic: No English version?
 

Hi all,

I started to collect the comic series of the Smurfs. The series is first published both in Holland and Belgium. I have this complete series.

Now I’m looking for the #1 book (The Black Smurfs) in all the languages it is released. See the pics for some examples.

I’m searching now for some time but have not find the English version. Also I’m wondering if there is an English release. This because I see auctions on eBay where the King Smurf is described as the #1 book. Maybe something to do with the typically American problem with black people?

Who has info for me?
Who has this edition in any language but not Dutch/Belgium, French, German, Italian, Hungarian and want to sell it to me?

I have that particular comic in German, "Blue Smurfs And Black Smurfs" as the title translates into. I would sure love to see this adapted to English, even if they did change them to purple like in the cartoon show series.

I still am searching for the English version of this album. Would anyone be so kind and give me a listing of this Smurf comic series which have been issued in America/UK?

I know they did not distribute Black Smurf in the US, because there would have been no avoiding it becoming a racial thing in the U.S. He was purple for the cartoon, but I don't think the story was released as a book, even purple...
