Chiefy Smurf

Hey there fellow Smurfers! A newbie on board here. I am Chiefy Smurf... lover of all Native American Smurfs.

I'm 29, so grew up avidly with the Smurfs. I'm the youngest of 4 kids, so you can imagine the number of Smurfs we had. If you can't imagine, the figure would be in the hundreds and probably some of the earlier Smurfs at that. We also had the big red house, the small green one and Smurfette's pinky purple one.

Anyway, I love my 80s toys in general. As my family's Smurf collection was given away (no justice)... I've always kept them in memory... especially my favourite Red Indian ones. For some reason I love Native American culture and the Red Indian Smurfs were my faves (second favourites being the chef Smurfs).

So far I have zero Smurfs in my collection, but today I bought the Smurfette Squaw on Ebay. I'm also bidding on the Indian Chief as I type, so fingers crossed. I'm bidding on the black feathered one as seen in my avatar, as he was my fave as a kid.

Still on the hunt for the Corn on the Cob Indian Brave. He's not that widely available on Ebay, so I'm praying he'll crop up to complete my nostalgic collection.

After I get all 3 Smurfs I may invest in a new large red shroom house to keep them all in safe 'n' sound. And who knows... I may even get the bug and expand!

Anyway nice to meet you all and I'm off now for a browse!

I also love Native American Indians and their culture so it's great to see a Chief Indian Smurf around these parts. One of my middle names is Shaman and although that's a pretty general term it was inspired by the American Indians than from elsewhere.

Good luck with your collection and I hope you find all of the ones you are after. I am thinking of making a teepee for my Indians as they would look happier and wouldn't hurt the other blue skins in my village as much so if I do I will show you what I come up with.

welcome chiefysmurf i had no smurfs when i was little, actually they weren't even around then, but i'm glad they came about later in my life. i have only been collecting about 4 1/2 months now and have about 195 SMURFS, and accessories, in my collection so far. last time i said that in the shroomroom it was only about 175, which wasn't that long ago. i want, but cannot find , any native american SMURFS in this area. my brother-in-law is part cherokee and would love for me to find native american SMURF to add to my collection. my shroomroom name is SCHLEICH, which is my REAL last name. everyone in the current shroomroom knows i am related to THE SCHLEICH SMURFS but i only collect SMURFS to keep them in business !!! again, WELCOME to the wonderful world of SMURFS and we all hope you find your dream.

Thanks for the warm and very blue welcome! Y'all are just Smurf-tastic... and famous too I see! Schleich that's a very big claim to fame! I'm jealous.

My dream would be to one day visit an Indian reservation whenever i finally get to go to America. My Mum was convinced I must've been a Native American in my past life, which could well be true.

Anyway I think I'm obviously getting the Smurf bug as for the last 24hrs I've done nothing but surf them on the net. I'm so glad they're alive and kicking to this day. Will let you know how my collection progresses.

chieft smurf.....you list as UK and ASIA......Am i missing something ? How can you be 2 places @ once ? I think it's cool and i think i know the answer........but one Q...do they have SMURFS in ASIA? Just thought i'd ask, and again....

I spent my childhood in Malaysia where I got all my original Smurfs and watched it avidly on tv... so I felt it only fair to list it in my profile. Then at age 11 I moved back to the UK. There are no Smurfs that I know of in Malaysia anymore. However in the 80's it was a completely different story... all the Smurfs, buildings, super smurfs were widely available.

Do they sell Smurfs in the UK still? I never see any in the toyshops!

you can find SMURFS more in the UK and EUROPE than you can in the US. one good web site is smurfclubuk@ukbusiness.com...or the best one...kittyscavern.com. if you want to make purchases....if you want to chat with other SMURF collectors we, the shroom room crew, are probably your best bet. we hail from the STATES, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, CANADA, the UK, BELGIUM, GERMANY ( don't want to leave anyone out), and are your best source for SMURF collecting. I have only been chatting for a month but the information i have collected from everyone in the shroom room has been invaluable. good luck and happy SMURFING!!!

Hi Chiefy Smurf! Welcome to the shroom room! I am a newbie myself, and I am starting to realize that there are a lot of smurf lovers out there! I also loved the indian smurfs. As I was more interested in smurfettes as a girl, I was delighted that there is an indian smurfette. she is one of my faves. I still have her and the chief with the black tipped headdress that you spoke of. When I played with them as a child, I pretended that the chief was the Indian smurfettes dad! He has that overprotective father look! If you really are interested in finding the chief, post a reply to me- I am willing to sell mine. I've never sold any of mine yet, but I think I could part with the chief. I guess I don't love that one as much as you do! The smurfette is another story! Well anyway, welcome aboard!

Hi Dyar,
I always had very intricate storylines about my smurfs- sadly, even now I can tell you which one was married to which one, and how they were related to the others. I am cursed with a good memory for useless information!

Me too .....I can tell you a lot about smurfs, rock music, footy......alcoholic drinks....but if you want to know about anything useful or about something that can actually make money then.... ......ask someone else

Sounds like you could of written a few stories for the cartoons or comics with your free flowing imagination. It would be funny to hear who married who in your village.....please tell me Brainy got married....I feel sorry for the little guy.

Ha ha, that's a great little story Lucretia. I too had many ongoing playtime storylines with my Smurfs... though I did make them battle with eachother too... the usual good guys vs bad guys. I used to love my Indian Smurf village : population 3... ha ha!

Thanks for the offer of the chief but I am already bidding on one on Ebay. I have also JUST bought Indian Smurfette and the Ear-of-Corn Smurf... both should be arriving this week... woohoo! The ear-of-corn Smurf was slightly pricy but well worth it.

And yes pls more stories of your Smurfy adventures!

I love Malaysia we go there once a year usually for 3-4 weeks, we have very dear friends that live there...i love the shopping there.. expect for the no smurf factor....

I have never been to Malaysia. I probably couldn't even tell you exactly where it is! I am a typical American Midwesterner. We don't travel much and we're adverse to new things. No, just joking! But it is true for most Hoosiers!
Dyar, I am sorry to tell you, brainy was never married in my village. my fave couple was the indian smurfette and the hunter guy- you know the one with the birdie on it. That had a whole John Smith- Pocahontas feel to it. I am so weird! I am looking at my little blue buds right now, and I realize that I am sort of a freak! I am sure some of you out there can relate
Chiefy- great job getting the corn cob indian- I didn't even know about that one. I looked him up and he's pretty cute! Keep collecting & have a blast!
